Director
Holds Teachers� Grade Two Certificate, Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE), Bachelor of Art Education (English) and Master of Education (Planning and Administration). He also obtained a Certificate in Management from the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria, (ASCON). He was Headmaster at various Primary Schools between 1977- 1987. From 1988 � 1995 he served as Primary Schools Inspector under the defunct Kazaure Local Education Authority. In 1995, he was appointed the Executive Education Secretary, Gwiwa Local Education Authority up to 2000. Later, between 2000- 2005, he worked as Zonal Inspector, Kazaure Zone. In September 2005, Yahaya was transferred to Jigawa State Universal Basic Education Board as Deputy Director Inspection, then Deputy Director Schools Services and subsequently retired from service as Director Social Mobilization in 2012. While under Jigawa State Universal Basic Education Board, he had actively participated in the Girls� Education Project (GEP) for the promotion of access, equity and retention of the Girl child into basic schools sponsored by the British Department for International Development (DFID) through United Nations International Children�s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) targeting six Local Education Authorities in Jigawa state. Again from 2010 - 2012 , Yahaya served as secretary Education Quality Team under the auspices of Education Sector Support Programme in Nigeria (ESSPIN ) also sponsored by the British Department for International Development (DFID). For six years (2006-2012), he was Desk Officer UBEC community � initiated Self- Help Projects that assisted in improving the conditions of 983 Basic Education schools; and ESSPIN small schools grants for schools developments respectively. Between 2007 -2012 he was the Scribe, Jigawa State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) a position that availed him with the opportunity to familiarize himself much with the Education Policy terrain. Yahaya attended several Workshops and Seminars organised by UNESCO and ESSPIN as well as those sponsored by Government to manage Educational Practices and Policies .In 2014, while in retirement, he was appointed Co- facilitator in a research on Conflicts, Violence and Education sponsored jointly by the Save the Children and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC); Abuja, Nigeria at the height of Boko � Haram insurgency in the three states of Jigawa, Kaduna and Kano.
